This photo is of Franklin Street,
directly across from the courthouse, around 1905.

This photo is a bit more recent,
although Edward Jones is no longer located on the corner.
You can see the differences in the buildings.
Note that in
the early 1900s photo, the building we all know as J.C. Penney,
had not yet been constructed. It is a bit difficult to
see, however, if you zoom in, you can see a fence around that
area. There is a woman and child walking on the sidewalk
directly in front of the fence. |
